Prequel = hindering results

So I started Tret in January (.025%) had no adjustment period.. I could use it every single night pretty much from the start and figured I just had super strong skin ?? So after the second month I bumped up to .05% thinking I’d see some peeling more shine, SOMETHING.
I was keeping the routine really simple
-wash with prequel gleanser
-apply and eye cream, apply Tret and off to bed that’s it
I woke up the other day and had the thought that the glycerin in the prequel might be screwing up my results, so I’ve been using my old very basic face wash it’s a very gentle cleanser… and what do you know suddenly my acne is clearing, my lower face is peeling (I actually see this as success 😂) and I’m even starting to see that Tret glow everyone has been talking about !
I was alllll about that prequel face wash but now I’m wondering if it was hindering my results?! Just a thought or maybe a PSA for others that are using that wash or similar. I think it was like using a moisturizer before tret and just slowing my results.
