My experience with the Klipsch RP speakers as a non-audiophile, novice enthusiast has been nothing short of amazing!

My gear

Center: RP-504C II (bought open box at $484)

Fronts: Pair of RP-8000F II (Bought open box at $468 ea)

Receiver: Onkyo TX-RZ70 11 channel (bought open box at $1529)

Display: TCL QM6K 98" QD-MiniLED

I'm hoping to add RP600M II as my surrounds, RP1000SW/RP1200SW for my sub, and 4 atmos speakers in time (possibly RP500SA Gen 1 or 2, or maybe in-ceiling speakers - yet to make up my mind based on what would fit well in my space).

Even with a incomplete 3.0 setup, the Klipsch speakers is an absolute beast. Haven't heard dialog and vocals this clearly before, and even without a dedicated sub I can feel the bass rumbling my furniture. So punchy! I haven't even run the DIRAC audio correction yet and still sounds incredible. Music also sounds excellent. Especially rock, metal, progressive, retro and synth. The drum beats and solo riffs are beautiful. Pink floyd, led Zeppelin, Metallica, sleep token, zombie hyperdrive - all sound brilliant!

I haven't tried other klipsch speakers and don't know how the Gen 1 compares first hand. After reading several reviews, comparisons, and comments, watching several YouTube review videos, I went with the Gen 2 versions. Decided to take the time and save to purchase the better speakers vs go cheaper with the reference line.

My only other experience with speaker system are the Polk ES20 bookshelf (I have them setup for my living room tv with a Wiim amp) and a very old creative 5.1 speakers that a friend had. The Klipsch 3.0 setup I have blows the other 2 out of the water, no doubt!

Take my opinion coming from limited experience with a grain of salt - but the RP line from klipsch would work wonders for most people. I have zero regrets going with Klipsch, especially their RP Gen 2s and can wholeheartedly recommend them to anyone that's building out a home theater or getting into this hobby.

P.S. I agree with the general sentiment about Klipsch pricing practices. At their msrp, I totally agree that they are overpriced. Buying used or refurb/open box is worth it. I followed historic deal pricing on Adorama / crutchfield / slick deals and waited for prices to drop close to their lowest before purchasing them.

Hope this post helps folks like me struggling to make a decision.

Cheers!
