Restitution for tuition

5 years ago I put my brother in contact with one of my friends to help him cheat on one his exams. He wound up getting a middle d in the class. I have zero way of deciphering as to the exact point differential it would have made, but it’s possible that the cheating could have been the tipping point between a d and a f which meant he would have had to pay for the class again meaning he would have had to pay for 6k extra in tutition. Hence I am now in agonizing situation that I may owe 6 thousand dollars for something I didn’t even benefit from
