Package Pickup?

What are your thoughts on package pickup? About three years ago we shipped 50-75 daily (sometimes 150-200 daily during the holidays) usps packages and the mail lady would stop and scan each one when she would drop off the mail. Super nice (took like 15-20 minutes as we laid them all barcode side up. She did that for two years until there was a sub one day who threw a fit about scanning and complain to management over one day of scanning and they told our normal mail delivery driver she couldn't scan them anymore.

If she wasn't going to scan them anymore we might as well bring them to the local PO to get scanned. I know they hated scanning there as they didn't need the large package delivery as it was a busy PO with a line always out the door so they were always little angry with us... We would hand it to them in the bags and they would scan when the line died down.
This went on for a year and we were doing about 100 orders daily. Recently I asked to drop off at the annex/hub and we were doing that fine for a month up until this week when I dropped off 200 packages one day and now the supervisor said they don't want me dropping off.

I'm honestly at a loss as I'm not sure what to do.
They want to new mail delivery driver to come to our house to pick up the packages. I told them that we have about 8-10 of those usps crinkly bags filled daily and the trucks only hold about 5-6 when empty. They said he will come back at the end of their route and make 2-3 trips each day. I'm so confused how that is more worth it?? We are residential and I understand we should be commercial...but I thought it was saving the local PO and the delivery driver time not having to pickup/ scan. The annex was my last attempt not to make people angry. :/

My only thought is they want the residential route to be commercial with the package pickups?
Honestly at a loss for the next year. Holiday season might be 200 packages daily.
