Of course im not saying that everything in a game has to be poo poo pee pee dog crap, there are going to be good characters and weak characters,!but holy shit some things are just TOO strong.

Usually things that are insanely broken are balanced out with the fact they’re hard to use during gameplay or they have drawbacks for the player when used. If you don’t know anything about PVZ it’s a tower defense game where you places plants on a grid of tiles to defend against zombies. The point is to not let the zombies reach the left side of the screen, they can destroy your plants and your plants have to kill them before they do.

**POKRA-**But because of power creep in this game plants like pokra are fucking 175 sun. Pokra is a melee plant that can teach two tiles in front of her (can’t turn around thank god) Does INFINITE PIERCING DAMAGE, HAS HIGH DPS, POISON DAMAGE (which damages through armor) AND HAS AN ATTACK WHERE SHE LAUNCHES THIS MASSIVE BULLET THAT HAS INFINITE REACH.

**IMPEAR-** Impear is a plant that turns zombies into imps (weak enemies) or if an imp eats it they die immediately. impear is FREE with a recharge time of FIVE SECONDS (not a lot of time.) I’ve seen people solo levels with only impear and a stalling plant like thyme warp or sapfling.

**TORCHWOOD-** Basically torchwood is a support plant, and when bullets from other plants pass through it, it makes them on fire and does more damage. He wasn’t able to do any damage on his own until they buffed him. They first made it so that when zombies are eating him they take damage which makes sense when you’re eating a flaming stump. But then they made it so that when he dies he blows up and sets fire temporarily to a whole lane and does insane damage to zombies.

Like I said earlier, as you progress in the game and the enemies become stronger, your toolset is going to become stronger but sometimes the line between “strong” and “who the fuck greenlit this” is crossed many times in game franchises where you can just place your shit down and sit back and jerk off. It’s not fun or engaging to use these things. It’s like the overpowered OCS.

I’m only using PVZ here as an example, but I’m sure there are plenty more.

I hate when games fall victim to powercreep/add ridiculously busted elements to them
