Missing Messages - Phone and Laptop

Hey all, I can't seem to find any information regarding my specific issue on reddit or on google.

Lately I am randomly not receiving the odd message here and there mostly within group chats that I am apart of. I know this because other people respond to that specific message with a reply and then all I see is them responding to a small box. Clicking on the reply to go to that message does nothing.

However, if I go to another device, say my laptop that is linked to my phone, I can maybe sometimes see that specific message but might not see other messages.

This is extremely frustrating as you might guess and I have no idea how to fix it.

Example 1: Person sent two photos with a description at the same time. I was unable to see this on my phone but was able to see it on my laptop.

Example 2: My entire chat that I had with my wife today is not showing on my laptop but shows on my phone.

Any ideas?
