I'm tired...
This is my first time posting here, and I'm not really sure what I'm looking for by writing this. But sincerely, I'm constantly tired of everything and I don't know how to change it.
First of all, I'm a [32M] teacher and my students totally tire me. Most of my lessons are 130 minutes with a 10 minute break in between. It doesn't matter what activities or topics or dynamics I bring into the classroom, the outcome is always the same. Out of 30 students, only 4 or 5 really do their work, 10 others cheat off their classmates or use chatgpt and half the class just don't do anything other than shout or throw things. The little comfort I can find is that every teacher I talk to is going through the same, but I'm still worried about the future when these kids start having jobs and responsibilities and have to vote.
I'm also tired of all the shit that's going on in the world and in my country (Argentina). Teenage girls being raped and murdered, corrupt politicians taking advantage of everything they can, people starving because they can pay for food. And worst of all (I know I shouldn't look) is the comment section on social media. People are so mean, they only look after themselves. How can I have hope for a better future if everyone seems to want the rest of society to fall? A teacher in my town got punched by a student and most comments blame the teacher. We've had 2 teenage girls and a woman murdered this week and the comment section blames their mothers. Why? Why are people so mean?
I'm tired of being poor. I work all day at school, but I have to plan lessons, mark tests and homework, be available for projects and stuff on my own time? I only get paid for the time I spend in the classroom, but all the other things teachers do in their own time seems to be overseen and underappreciated. I have to work in 8 different schools, so I also spend a lot of time commuting from one to another. So when people ask me what I like to do in my free time I honestly don't know how to answer that question. I don't know how to do anything else besides teaching. When I get a good lesson I absolutely enjoy it, I have fun. But lately, it's all going downhill.
I can't concentrate. I struggle to do everything. My place is a mess (although I try to keep it ordered, my partner does not really help with that). I want to start seeing a psychologist, but it's so damn expensive.
If anything, I had the opportunity to put it into words I guess.
