Gasoline storage

I think I already know the answer but I need someone to talk me out of it.

Gas is currently selling for around $4.50 June 3, 2026. I'm sure it will be heading up much higher by July. The cheapest 5 gallon containers are at Walmart for $17. There's a station selling it for $3.90. I'd like to stock up but the downside is a pair of 5 gallon $32, for work my car Civic gets around 35mpg. I drive conservatively and try to not take unnecessary trips...

The downside is it will take me awhile to pay off the containers and 10 gallons isn't very much, 10 gallons will get me through 1.5 weeks of commuting which isn't very long, its a fire hazard... Doesn't seem like a good way to save money.
