One last thing before tomorrow
Just a quick thank you.
Thank you to everyone involved in the fandom and show. I have been watching this show throughout my 3 years of university (1st episode came out same day I moved in) and 9th is coming out the same week my finals have ended), and it kept me happy through some dark times.
It inspired me too. Being involved in the fandom has also opened me up to many other indie animation endeavours, and has also been the catalyst for me pursuing a more artistic and less niche (studying a political degree) direction in life after I leave university.
The show has also allowed me to be honest with myself through the characters presented on screen and how our problems don't have to be faced alone. I know people in my life will think it's silly if not creepy for such a show to affect my young adult life, but that's how it's been for me.
Finally, this show has allowed me to find friends through the fandom I otherwise would not have, and said friends have allowed me to be more self assured and less alone through other shared interests that we both value, with this show being a major factor in this.
So tomorrow, whether I leave fulfilled or disappointed, I believe that The Last Act represents the closure of a chapter of my life, especially since I leave university for home at the end of the week, and it may be one of the last memories I have of this town before I leave. Maybe I finally understand how it felt like for people when Lost, Walking Dead and The Sopranos ended, especially considering I didn't get to see the Stranger Things of Peaky Blinders finales in cinemas either.
So to Goose, Lizzie, Michael, Sean, Amanda, Ashley, Merissa, Alex, Evan, and everyone else who helped make all this possible, and to everyone in this fandom,
Thank you.
