[TOMT] [MOVIE] 2000s indie film with with alt girl working at an ice cream shop

I started this indie film a few years ago that I’ve now completely forgotten, and now I want to find it and finish it. My memory is this was an early to mid-2000s movie, but to be safe it could reasonably be from 1998-2012.

I recall the film centers on a young woman 18-25yo with an edgy/alt aesthetic who moves back to her hometown. She’s staying with another woman around her age who is her sister/cousin/childhood friend.

She needs to make money so this sister/friend gets her a job at the local ice cream shop she already works at. I think they wear uniforms like diner dresses (maybe pink with a paper cap?).

The only other thing I remember before I stopped was there was a plot element having to do with the storeroom in the back of the shop. The main character either hides something there or plans to steal something, and seems tentative about doing so.

The movie felt pretty low budget with flat lighting and lots of wide static shots. This is all I remember, hope this is enough!

Edit: I’m almost certain it’s not the movie Free Samples (2012), even though some aspects do line up.
