Subtitles keep turning on in ESPN app on Apple TV

In the ESPN app on my Apple TV, every time a game returns from commercial break, subtitles turn on. So I end up turning them off dozens of times every game. I've tried messing with subtitle settings on the Apple TV itself and within the app but haven't been able to find a solution.

Anyone else?
