Is there any optimism for the future of medicine in the uk?
Seriously, I thought getting into med school and passing all these exams and years and pure dedication and training. would mean you have a job.
But many uk grads go unemployed or without work in the nhs. How on earth is that possible??????????
If your a doctor and your reading this. Would you advise your own child to enter medicine? maybe youd guide them towards dentistry idk - do you think thats a better career?
Because imagine putting ur heart into this, truly seeing how well you fit in medicine, how much you love it and the work you do. And then told there is chance of unemployment.
Speciality training is so tough to get. Doctors cant be rest assured that theyll be on a pathway to a speciality theyll enjoy. im not saying they shouldnt apply and prepare and put in all this work, they should. but damn unemployment?????
I saw a video of a doctor talking about having no job prospects after F2. how do you even sleep at night knowing thats a possibility.
How can you confidently start a family without knowing the direction of your future. Buy a house etc.
Please can any doctors or something let us know if it will improve? will it get better? Will speciality training just open up a little more.
How much has uk prioritisation improved competition? has stuff like IMT dropped down to 0.9, or within 1.1-2.
Its honestly sickening. whats your take guys. are you optimistic?
