Parents Got Me A Condo But It's Horrible. They're in Denial.

I know this might sound like a rich person problem, but it's not. (29F)

A year ago I told my parents I was looking for a place to live that had a water softener. I have rosacea and it's been a difficult thing for me, because everywhere I've lived has irritated my skin, making my face turn beet red. It's hard to even cover it with makeup. So, after hearing this, my parents proposed their idea of getting a family condo with a water softener. I told them if it for sure was able to have a water softener, I would be down.

Cut to... a month later and we've found a condo, but I'm in argument with my Dad because it seems like this place does not have a water softener, and the realtor we are working with is of no help. She tells us the place uses salt, and a lot of it, but there is nothing in the contract that says it's for the pipes that connect to the baths. I end up taking a risk to find .. there is no water softener here.

Not only that, the HOA staff here is horrible. They do not fix anything and my parents will not listen to me when I say everything here is broken. Then I find out the bigger issue: the air for the entire building is broken. It is extremely stuffy in this building 24/7, and it's made me sick. I tell my parents this, and they don't believe me. I don't know what to do at this point.

I feel like I've been completely sabotaged by my parents who got me a condo and then had no idea how a condo works. They visit once every three months, only to tell me that the place is fine, when it's not. Nothing is up to code here! People vandalize the entire area all the time! Residents smoke weed here even though it's against the rules!

I don't know what to do, so I ask them if I can stay with them for a bit because I feel so sick at the condo. They let me, and then I find out that their own HVAC system is broken. So it only pushes out bad air, and they don't want to fix it. I get even more sick at their house and have to leave. At this point, I'm furious. I reach out to family to ask if I can stay with them, and I do. However, I can't stay there for very long and end up back at the condo!

I have been stuck in hell now, feeling terrible, and my parents will not admit they are at fault. They HATE it here, and never visit, but then tell me "it's fine, you should be grateful you're not homeless", and I'm like "because of you I might be!".

It's just a horrible, unmaintained building and no one here has the guts to report this staff. I know my neighbor has reported things a few times, but nothing ever gets fixed.

I've also learned that because I'm a tenant, I have no power. If I complain, the staff tells me to tell my parents, who in turn don't see it as an issue.

I would just move out, but being sick has sabotaged my job, making me too sick to work. Even if I got a new job, I would need to be well enough to work at it, so I just don't know what to do besides try to live somewhere temporarily that's NORMAL, so I can regain my sanity.
