Am I the Only One Who Thinks the Sponsored Kit Complaints Are Overblown?
I think the community is overestimating the impact of the sponsored kits at the start of the season.
I've seen a lot of people saying that it's "too early" for players to have purple gear and that the sponsored kits are ruining early-season progression. But from my experience so far, that's not really what's happening.
My squad and I have been playing a lot since the season started, and we've already obtained purple gear through normal gameplay. In a single Outpost run where we got access to Pinwheel, we extracted with multiple purple items, including purple shields and a purple weapon. That wasn't from a sponsored kit. It was simply the result of a successful run.
On top of that, we've also had the opposite experience. In another Outpost match, we fought a squad that was running purple shields while we were still using green shields. We won the fight, wiped the squad, and extracted with all of their gear.
To me, that shows that knowledge, positioning, teamwork, and decision-making matter far more than starting the season with a couple of purple items.
There's also another point worth mentioning. Some of the most dedicated players are already consistently completing the Complex puzzle on Dire Marsh at Night and accessing some of the highest-value loot in the game. I've already seen players running around with gold-tier gear only a few days into the season, and that obviously didn't come from sponsored kits.
The reality is that highly skilled and organized squads are always going to progress faster than the average player. They learn the maps faster, solve secrets faster, optimize routes faster, and extract more successfully. That's where most of the early gear advantage is coming from.
The sponsored kits gave players some decent gear, sure. But we're talking about a very limited number of kits. Meanwhile, experienced squads are already farming high-value loot, solving map secrets, optimizing routes, and extracting with purple and even gold gear through gameplay anyway.
I understand concerns about progression and game economy, but I honestly don't think two sponsored purple kits are having the massive impact some people claim they are.
From what I've seen so far, player experience is what's really accelerating progression. Squads that know the maps, understand the mechanics, and can consistently complete high-value activities like Pinwheel runs or the Complex puzzle in Dire Marsh at Night are naturally going to acquire purple and even gold gear much faster than everyone else.
