For those who’ve gotten their IBS reasonably under control, what system have you built for deciding what foods to try or avoid?

Question

One thing I've noticed reading IBS discussions is that advice often focuses on what foods might be problematic, but I'm curious about the actual decision-making process people use in real life.

For those who feel like they've gotten their symptoms reasonably under control, what does your process look like when deciding whether to try a new food?

For example:
- Do you check ingredient lists?
- Look for specific triggers?
- Compare it to foods you already tolerate?
- Search Reddit first?
- Keep a mental or written list of "safe" foods?
- Avoid new foods altogether unless there's a good reason to try them?

I'm less interested in specific foods and more interested in the systems people have developed over time.

What has actually worked for you?
