Reached a point in my life where I cringe looking back at what a sucker i was for capitalism/marketing/consumerism

Support/Advice

Asalamu alaykum warahmatullahi ¾ barakaatu

In my younger years i was a walking talking advertisement for fashion brands and anything shiny. When I say shiny, I mean all the popular "in" consumer trends. The fancy handbags for my wife. The high end brands for me.

Lhamdulillah over the past 5 years ive reached a level of maturity where I look at the same brands/marketing campaigns and feel like such a sheep and gullible sucker for having chased them trends. I recognise that we've been getting played and its a vicious cycle.

Thankfully my wife has also come round to my way of thinking and realised we need to step off the designer bandwagon which we have done over the past few years.

The slight issues I may have are ...

My kids are growing up and they're looking at my wardrobe thinking , what I preach isn't how I've been living.

Secondly I'm soon to be practicing polygyny when the right prospect presents herself bithnillah . A second wife may find this thinking rigid or premature considering she may not have been through my lifestyle to arrive at this conclusion.

Would it be best to sell the stuff i have ? Would it be best to spoil a new second wife at first with a little materialism to get it out of the system ? Do most women have an itch to scratch with the whole material/shiny thing?

Any advice is appreciated jzk
