Anyone else that wanted a 4runner but ended up making the more "practical choice?"

My wife and I are looking for our next vehicle as we are expecting our first child in December and entering the next phase of life. On top of that we already have 2 medium sized dogs and need something big enough to transport the whole crew when needed.

I currently drive a '21 Tacoma (Access Cab) and have always wanted a 5th gen 4runner, but of course I know that something like the Highlander Hybrid would be the wiser choice with more room, driving comfort, and better mpg. Still though, my heart is drawn to the 4R.

I'm curious if anyone else went through this same dilemma.
