The above photo is from Monday night.. I get these weird removable stitches out Friday morning. On Monday I was asked if I’m allergic to tegaderm or adhesives by a different dermatologist I saw who swapped the bandage out for me while doing a skin check for mole mapping I’m having done..I told her I get very mild redness from certain bandaids so I avoid those ones but I’m not sure about tegaderm..she used it and some new bandage or adhesive..and my skin was burning and itching badly and the itching is becoming worse. Yesterday the nurses at the dermatologist office where I had the surgery done at recommended I put hydrocortisone on the red parts and avoid the stitches so I’ve been doing that and it isn’t helping much at all..I called today for further input and was asked to email photos of the redness so I did and they never called me like they promised to call today so I’m continuing the hydrocortisone and avoiding scratching the area although it’s super itchy.. losing my mind because I also have period cramps in my lower back due to my period starting..the nurse sounded angry I called yesterday and didn’t bother to take down my name or number and said someone would call back so I had called back and spoke to someone nicer..I’m struggling tonight and could use advice..

This is my 8th skin surgery and first time with an adhesive reaction like this..I get the stitches out Friday morning..I have taken Tylenol and applied hydrocortisone and no longer covering the area as I’ve been told by a nurse at my dermatologist office to no longer put bandages on the stitches but keep applying the twice a day antibiotics to the stitches and showering daily until Friday morning..

What should I do for the itching?
