This show is one ot the best things since sliced bread. (S2 Spoilers)

Spoiler

It's been a while since I've watched a show mostly devoid of internet opinion. I knew it had something to do with time at least. Episode one had me hooked immediately. The camerawork, the mystery, the intrigue. Honestly, I couldn't think of any criticisms right now if I tried. The pacing feels amazing as well, which is probably helped by the flashforwards season one had briefly.

Going into season two, and I hate making this comparison, gave me a lot of DARK vibes.

First off, I've gotta say that I really like their explanation for the loops. At a base level, it's multiverse theory. Not that complex. But the consistency that the story applies it is masterful, honestly. It's really interesting to understand when you're familiar with a lot of the concepts. (Once again, DARK vibes are strong here). That's a whoole rabbit hole of discussion on its own though, and not enough of my two thumbs on a mobile screen to talk about.

So, about that ending. To me, it seems like the easiest explanation is that Isaac hopped to the next recursion unintentionally, which Lucy is there waiting because she knows where he was going to be (since from her perspective, that cycle has ended, despite it being simultaneous... its all relative.)

I think that will also explain why Isaac said Lucy told them they had to run. A younger (like a couple weeks less) Lucy will either be waiting for Isaac (maybe under the bridge?) to hop recursions and she'll tell him that they need to run away. Basically, Lucy will let herself be killed as she closes cause and effect. Theres also the possibility Lucy is the one who bleeds into Isaac's timeline, which we see with objects stuff, but she'll be prepared to give info at the time. Maybe.

Isaac is not bound to any timeline, but I think the death of Lucy will create an issue for him that forces him to be unable to go to his Mom in he next cycle, which may be the plot around s3. Oor... its a timeskip, since we did see an older Isaac in season two, and they'll eventually have to play catchup. I didnt put much thought here, so don't crucify me.

I saw an interesting post the other day that the bombing is kind of the reason Isaac exists at all in some strange long-winded loop. So I temporarily thought that was Eugene evidence for Isaac-bomber. Main issue with this, having finished the series, is that it seems that Isaac can't travel to any point in time as he wants. Remember the explanation about the recursions being parallel? He might be able to hop timelines, but he can't go to any point in time... It's always the parallel moment that he jumps from and to, never before or after. If he leaps at 3:33, he can't jump to :32 or :34.....is what I think so far, but this can always change. Big evidence for this is that Isaac seems pretty on-age (+25 years added) for when he visits Gideon in the previous cycle. Red herring for the overthinkers, maybe.

Let me clarify just so my thought process makes sense. While I do think the show isn't exactly predetermined in a traditional sense, so there is a degree of freewill, I do think that The Devil's Hour follows *causal loop / bootstrap paradox* logic. Gideon always met Adult Isaac before Isaac was born in the cycle. Isaac didn't create a new path. Also meaning, there was never a cycle where Isaac *didn't* appear in the last recursion by accident. It's like Grandma said; He's exactly where he's supposed to be. Yes, Gideon basically created him in error. But I don't think he's as anomalous as it appears.

Anywho, bomber is definitely an individual we know of. Honestly, my bets are it's the kid who has been hidden the entire time by Evelyn. Clearly they're kind of out of the picture currently, so. But if they remedy the parallel moment issue with Isaac, then he could easily be the bomber too. But I don't think Isaac is so self assured to ensure his own existence at the cost of people's lives. The story's been beating hard into us that despite what it looks like and what Gideon thinks (soulless), the kid has a conscience. The whole family is a little fucked up from the recursions but they're all good people at heart. So I really don't think it could be him. Or any of the family.

Man. I can't wait for s3. This show is REALLY good and I'm so glad to have read that it wasn't canceled... because I swear to god, it's shows exactly as captivating as this that are always the first to go.

P.S. Anyone get O.A. vibes? It's scratching that itch... really well, honestly. Not exactly the same, but... yeah.
