I finally launched the mobile app I’ve been building as a solo founder…
The project itself took much longer than I wanted it to. I kept running into things:
- My rusty MacBook wouldn’t work with modern Xcode versions, so every iOS build went through a GitHub Action -> build package -> distribute package to TestFlight -> test on physical device. A rather cumbersome experience!
- I’d open the TestFlight app and think, “Well this isn’t quite what I want” or “It has to have this too” then redesign it and repeat.
- Balancing a job search, freelance work, building this company, and still having a decent life, meant progress was steady but slower than I imagined.
Personally, I’ve enjoyed using it to keep up with the news and I feel like there’s a ton of potential behind it, but obviously I’m biased. The question is, do other people find value in it? And if not, please tell me why!
It is called Clera News, available on the web at https://clera.news and on the App Store at https://apps.apple.com/us/app/clera-news/id6761734212
