Magical doubt

Hello, nightfarers, I have a genuine question I've not resolved up to this moment. Does magic attack apply to magic attacks or only to the magic affinity? Should I try getting affinity boost for recluse if it does only boost magic affinity? Or are all magic-based attacks a percentage magic affinity? Sorry if this is all a bit confusing, thanks!
