Snail explosion

Hey everyone, long time aquariast and recently dovetail into shrimp tanks. Shrimp have been doing wonderfully with the tank and shrimp, just had my second batch of shrimplets and wanted to make sure they all had a varied diet and tried some dried mulberry leaves i got from Amazon. Put one in dry and just let it expand and i had an explosion of snails and what look little tiny clams out of nowhere like 12-24 hours later. Can I boil and keep using the leaves or should I just not use this batch?

For context, tank is well planted, I keep it somewhat brown-blavk with almond leaves and Blackwood. I have been using the same everything for months before this happened and had not put any new leaves, bark or veggies in that could have introduced the buggers.

Any help is appreciated. Im getting rid of the snails slowly and cut lighting hours to try and keep food competitive until I can squish the rest of the snails
