Letting go of my ex - STRUGGLING - is this limerence?

I am struggling with a break up - it was 2 years ago, and we only dated a couple of months. They discarded me, I begged and a few times while dating they tried to leave but would give me chances, until the last time.

Since end of last year I've just sent a couple of emails here and there, no threats. They never responded to any of my messages, until recently when they told my family I'd been harassing them and threatened to escalate to the police.

I'm asking others, struggling to let go due to fear of being abandoned/ the general boredem I'm experiencing in my life. Do you actually fear legal implication? Should I just wait out their anger and try again in a few months? It was an intense relationship - we spoke everday, but only saw each other once a week (distance). I said i love you 3 weeks in, they were initially hesitatnt, but began saying it back. It was their first relationship.

I'm just trying to understand and would love to hear from more people - because someone mentioned limerence to me, is that what this is? Fyi i have BPD.
