Recommendations on Where and What to buy/How to Get MSRP here in SG?

As the title suggests, I'm looking to buy my first Pokémon cards. The main reason is honestly just for fun, especially for my fiancée. She really enjoys opening things, whether it's a parcel delivery or something we've recently bought, so I thought opening Pokémon packs together might be a fun experience for us.

Recently, we've also been enjoying playing through the older Pokémon games, starting all the way back from Gen 1 and gradually working our way through the later generations. We've been trying to catch as many Pokémon as possible and reliving the journey. It's been incredibly nostalgic and has sparked our interest in exploring the Pokémon TCG as a new hobby together.

The problem is that I'm completely new to the hobby, so I have no idea which set or product I should buy, or where I should buy it from. I've been browsing websites, Shopee, Lazada, and Carousell, but as a beginner, it's difficult for me to tell which sellers or dealers are trustworthy and which deals might be too good to be true.

I've also heard people mention buying products at MSRP, but I don't really know what that means in practice or where people typically find products at those prices.

So, for someone who's just looking to open packs for fun and enjoy the nostalgia, what products would you recommend, and where are some reliable places to buy them? Any tips for a complete beginner would be greatly appreciated.

Apologies if this is a question that's been asked many times before. I tried doing some research, but there's so much information out there that I'm not sure where to start.
