How can I automate focus bracketing steps in the XT5?
Hi all,
I'm using the focus bracket feature in the XT5 where you choose points A and B and the camera will take a series of images that I can then stack in Photoshop.
There are just too many manual steps involved in this process and I want to automate it in some way. I was hoping to do this via a Custom Button setup or the Q button:
So to use the focus bracket feature I have to:
-
Choose the physical BKT button on the camera;
-
Change to 2 sec self-timer (I can set up a Q function for this);
-
Change the shutter to Electronic Shutter (I can set up a Q function for this);
-
Select Drive Setting -then Bracketing- then Focus Bracketing -Set Focus Intervals
It seems that I cannot automate step 4 and I have to go into the Drive setting for each shot. How can I automate this? I cannot choose the Drive setting in a Q function and setting a custom button (C1, C2 etc) with the desired focus bracketing settings doesn't work either as I still have to go into Drive setting and choose the focus bracketing option each time.
FWIW, I am trying to use this function for landscape photos. I am starting to think it is easier just to take 3 or 4 shots manually and focus stack, rather than having to use this feature. However, I thought this feature would be more accurate in terms of focusing.
Any advice appreciated.
