How much does cleaning quality affect guest reviews in vacation rentals?

I was curious about something and wanted to get opinions from people who have experience with cleaning or property maintenance.

For vacation rentals and cabins, guests usually only see the final result, but a lot can happen between one checkout and the next check-in. Have you noticed that small cleaning issues (dust on surfaces, missed trash, dirty bathrooms, unmade beds, etc.) tend to generate stronger negative reactions than other maintenance issues?

For anyone who has cleaned vacation rentals or managed short-term rentals, what are the most commonly overlooked things that end up causing guest complaints?

I'm especially interested in hearing whether turnover timing affects cleaning quality when schedules get tight.
