911 calls keep coming from my house

I'm sorry if this isn't relevant for this sub, but I'm confused and desperate. Any advice is appreciated.

Context: I'm in Bay County Florida.

Two times in the last month, police have come to my house because of a 911 call coming from my location. The first time was about three weeks ago: I get a knock on my door at 4 am an two cops tell me they got a call about a domestic dispute but didn't elaborate. I didn't call. Neither of my neighbors seemed to be awake and there wasn't anyone around that may have called while walking by. There's someone with my same address in the town over and I asked if the call may have come from that house. They just shrugged if off and told me to have a good night.

Tonight, around ten, three cops knock on my door saying there was a call-this time, they didn't say if there was a report or not. They remembered the call from a few weeks back and when I told them I didn't call either time they said it may be an issue with my land line. I told them my landline was cut 11 years ago but again they just told me goodnight and left.

They didn't seem angry or irritated with me, but it's a strange situation and I don't want it to become an issue. Could someone somehow be making a call from a different location and making it appear like it's at my house? With a VPN or something? I'm sorry if that sounds stupid I just could not be more confused about this.

I have an ex who I've recently cut contact with after a fight. He's out of the state, but not only does he know a lot about tech, he had a habit of following me and dropping in unexpectedly when we lived in the same state. If possible, sending the cops to my house to scare me is definitely something he would do.

Maybe I'm overreacting with suspecting my ex, but even if he didn't have the ability to do anything like this WHY IS IT HAPPENING? Why would two calls come from my house with everyone asleep and the phones off? Could it actually be the landline that was cut over ten years ago? Could a call from someone with the same street and house number in a different city accidentally send the cops to my house? Could it have just been someone walking by and happened to call in front of my house TWICE???
