Am I overreacting for wanting half the profit from tickets I paid half for?
My boyfriend has Knicks season tickets. Throughout the season, I offered multiple times to pay for half of the season ticket cost, but he always declined.
When Finals tickets became available through his season ticket account, he bought two and I paid him for half of the cost. Now we’re discussing what would happen if we sold them instead of going.
I feel that since I paid for half of the tickets, I should receive half of any profit (or loss) from the sale. He feels I should only get back what I paid because the opportunity to buy the tickets only existed because he’s the season ticket holder and he paid for the season tickets all year.
We had a disagreement about it and I’m feeling pretty hurt by his stance. I can understand his perspective, but I also feel like if I’m sharing the cost, I should be sharing the outcome.
Am I overreacting for thinking any profit should be split 50/50?
