Air cooled riders: Ever had problems with overheating?

Looking at an XT250. I've only ever ridden liquid cooled, so my paranoid brain gets all nervous at the sound of an old-designed air cooled engine. What do you do (besides keeping the fins clean and the bike moving) to keep it at a happy temp?
