is there way to get answer from subconscious mind or higher self?

I want to know how to get answers from my subconscious mind or higher self. Are there any specific lessons or lectures by Neville Goddard or Joseph Murphy on this? I am currently torn between two choices: whether to manifest a relationship with my best friend—whom I like, but who told me we have no future together—or to let my own higher, ideal version attract the perfect girl for me. Since we possess incredible power, I know I could manifest either option. Because of this, I want to get an answer from my higher self or subconscious mind to help me decide.
