95’ LeSabre (124k) Questions and concerns

Hey all! I have a bit of an issue that I myself can’t track down

I’ve had my LeSabre for almost a year now, and I’d like to think I’m an amateur mechanic. (I’m also broke)

I’d had a stall and lugging problem that only happens once in a while. It throw the engine light, but I can’t read it because I don’t wanna spend the money on a special Sanpon one (OBD1.5 issues)

My dad replaced the egr valve (cheap Amazon one)

But the problem still persists. It also makes this loud clicking noise sometimes (not lifter tick) and I can’t track it down. I think it’s the cheap EGR valve, but I just wanna ask before I pull the trigger on anything. I replaced the fuel filter, and that fixed it for a while, but now it’s back.

Any help would be really appreciated !
