Too Much Spam?!?
Quick PSA + a thing I built. I got sick of robocalls, so I made Marvin — an AI that picks up like a polite, hard-of-hearing 78-year-old and keeps scammers talking as long as possible. Every minute they spend on him is a minute they're not spending on someone's actual grandmother.
There's an Android app in beta, but you don't need it to try this. You can point your missed/unanswered calls at his number right now with conditional call forwarding (the kind that only kicks in when you DON'T pick up — your phone still rings first, so you never miss a real call).
Forward to: (928) 492-0129
Dial the code for your carrier from your phone's keypad (it works like dialing a number):
- Most phones (AT&T + GSM): *61*9284920129# → turn off with ##61#
- Verizon: *71 9284920129 → turn off with *73
- T-Mobile / Metro / Mint: **61*19284920129# → turn off with ##004#
- Android, no codes: Phone app → Settings → Call forwarding → "Forward when unanswered/busy" → 928-492-0129
A real exchange (firefighting-foam "legal claim" scam):
> Caller: "This was with [law firm]..."
> Marvin: "Now wait — you said a different firm a minute ago. Which one is it, pal?"
The scammer hung up at 3:52.
Honest caveats so nobody's surprised: while forwarding is on, a missed call goes to Marvin instead of your voicemail, and calls that reach him are recorded (so you can hear the bait). Turn it off anytime with the off-code.

I'd genuinely love feedback — what carrier you're on, whether the codes worked, and how long Marvin kept yours talking.
