Cyclosporine capsules for Cat with severe chronic rhinitis
Hello! 10 year old cat with chronic and severe rhinitis (had scope, ct scan) has been on a (I think?)a high dose of prednisolone for many months. He’s still symptomatic and every time we try to drop he gets worse.
Vet added cyclosporine modified capsule twice a day (25 mg) and I randomly searched it and it seems like a very high dose. Any thoughts on this dosage and treatment plan?
I think the end goal is to not be on steroids for so long…
What a frustrating diagnosis! It’s been going on for over a year now.(initial symptoms to finally having the ct and scope this spring) Happy it’s not cancer but certainly seems very hard to treat.
