Angel Fangs, irritation

October 24th I got my angel fangs, 7 months ago
Downsized several months ago, about 4
My piercings are Stainless steel curved barbells with interior threading.
Usually I completely avoid touching my piercings, I wash them in the shower with just warm water
To remove crusties I use a moist paper towel
Recently, I removed my piercings completely.

Placing them in a water bottle with saline in it and removing any debris I shook to clean em off.

(This is not my usual way of cleaning and I do not recommend it.)

Afterwards I put my piercings back in.

I noted that I still get crusties often, alongside when removing there’s sticky, thick white gunk that usually is near the exit and entrance, not much at all.

This time though, the day after my piercing was feeling off. Aswell as it’s slightly raised.

I messaged my piercer and he told me that it was unlikely there would be any issues if I’d been washing it 4-6 times a day for 6 months.

Currently it’s quite small. There’s white in the affected raised area and a red circle right outside of it. Sound like an irrigation bump?

TLDR: lip piercing looks irritated and raised after washing poorly using only saline solution.
