Self diagnosing is idiotic
This started in 2020 during the pandemic, when people decided to pretend they had disorders for attention to get followers. They thankfully got called out later. Unfortunately people haven't stopped self diagnosing.
Before tiktok no one self diagnosed. Everyone was normal and healthy. I've been diagnosed by medical professionals because I have those illnesses.
There are so many people who now have munchausen syndrome because of this. Not autism, not dysphoria, not tourrettes, not anything. They are completely fine human beings who feel like they need to have a diagnosis to be liked or talked to. Which is a depressing and codependent feeling.
It's not normal. It's not okay. It's unhealthy.
The one that makes me the most uncomfortable is when people say they're transgender to get followers. No one can choose to be transgender. I've had dysphoria since I could remember, I started feeling like something was off around age 10. I was uncomfortable with my body from age 13 until I was 23, and when I found out what transgender was, I transitioned immediately. I've been diagnosed with dysphoria and have been on testosterone for 8 years so far. It took me half my life to choose my new full name, which I'm legally changing my name to soon. It was a very confusing, rough, and stressful experience for me. It's nothing like those people you see on the news, or the hub, it's not like chris chan, or those people you see on social media. The maybe one hundred people who have true gender dysphoria live a completely normal life. I live a completely normal life. Nothing is different. I don't bother people. I don't tell anyone I'm transgender because I don't date. Being transgender is a medical problem, not your identity.
The second one I think is the most ridiculous is that everyone says they're autistic when they're not. Half the people on earth cannot be and are not autistic. You can have a special interest without being autistic. You can be smart or be knowledgeable without being autistic. You do not have to claim to be autistic or have any diagnosis for people to like you.
99% of people on this planet didn't even say have mental or physical health problems before this started, it's goofy.
Whatever disorder or disability or illness you say you have for no reason isn't going to make you feel better about yourself in the long run.
It needs to stop.
