.NET developers: what's the most annoying part of starting a new project?

I'm a .NET developer and I've noticed that every time I start a new project, I end up repeating a lot of the same setup work:

  • Solution structure
  • Clean Architecture / Vertical Slice setup
  • EF Core configuration
  • JWT authentication
  • FluentValidation
  • Logging
  • Docker
  • CI/CD basics
  • Swagger/OpenAPI

I'm curious how other developers handle this.

Do you usually:

  • Start from scratch?
  • Use your own template?
  • Use a framework like ABP?
  • Clone a previous project?

And realistically, how much time does your initial setup take before you can start working on actual business features?

I'm researching this problem and would love to hear your workflow and pain points.
