(No spoilers) my 2 cents

I haven't felt this way about an ending in a while. It's a different (minorly) feeling than last time, less noticeable, but it's that same feeling I can't quite name. The last time I remember feeling this way was with Houseki no Kuni. I still feel sick in a strange way when I think about it.

It feels like Gooseworx, alright; the modern internet has ruined my vocabulary, so I can't come up with a better way to phrase it than this; I've always been the kind of person who enjoyed "hopeslop," and so bittersweet endings always hit me particularly hard. The tantalizing near-closure (emotional) burning as bright as a star with that superb narrative conclusion; so many expectations subverted and so many as one would expect, the only flaws I could point out would remind me of my favorite ideal. It doesn't matter if it's flawed. That's what makes it human.

It felt satisfying, and I couldn't be angry at it. My frustration is because it's hard knowing it's finally over. I can't be mad at it because im glad it existed at all.

Maybe that feeling is a fear of death, eternity, or something similar. It feels so distant, and these stories make it feel like they are right around the corner; they remind me of reality.

(I wrote this right after getting back from the theater if it doesn't make total sense or feels rushed. It's cause im tired, and I wrote this purely off of feels)
