Photo is of a spare corner I could use to show the floor color and walls because it’s my biggest stumbling block!

I moved to this home last year when I was pregnant. My actual room is too much of a mess to show on camera with baby things, but as she gets to crawling we desperately need to incorporate a storage solution to baby proof. I already know we will get a besta unit for our main tv wall to add some storage but can’t decide what color doors work best. We also want to get some Billy bookcases to go behind our couch for decor and storage. The house has like no closets and I want to put pet things and baby toys away, along with other household random things like spare lightbulbs, manuals, etc.

I’d say I’m struggling to define my style. I don’t want it to feel basic, but I also can’t commit to painting the walls for a while. We currently have a light green area rug that is almost neutral and a terrible grey kivik with a chaise I’m desperate to replace with something more comfortable 

I keep going back and forth between sticking with light and bright/natural for the shelving or going more industrial to be a bit more bold

I like the colorful and bold jewel tones when I see them, maximalist and goth styles. If anyone here is familiar with the color me spaces YouTube channel, I wish I could go that over the top (but with a bit more black and bats haha), but alas I’m a new mom with limited time and energy 😅 we have lots of posters and art to put up to add more character, I’ve got a bunny art collection (we also have a pet rabbit in his own little pen in this living room), show posters from concerts we’ve been to, and general cool pop art that need to come up in this space 

Anyway I have an oddly shaped room with an angle fireplace that is flush with its wall, and there are no walls where I could even do a faux built in that would be worth it.

Anyone also know a good way to visualize all this? I have to use my phone to do it between baby things, so using full Photoshop is out for this. I used the ikea visualizer but their stock room for the besta tool has a light wood floor that is nothing like mine and makes me antsy about some of my ideas

Stumped on what color ikea shelves/cabinets to get, what color sofa, with white walls and rich dark wood floor. I want an eclectic/colorful feel with a bit of an edge and whimsy that my baby can enjoy as she grows
