Pata Hai Aaj Kya Hua or more like pata hai is week kya hua?

So, I moved into a new house last November. My mother became friends with a woman who lives an across our block and couple of floors below us—let’s call her Neha.

She is an incredibly kind lady. Whenever my mother visited her, she’d always send back a soft drink, snacks, or whatever she had for me, even though I’m pretty introverted and barely knew her personally. One of her legs is paralyzed, so she has difficulty walking. Her husband also seems to have some mental health issues and mostly sits quietly in the balcony all day. Every time I saw them, I felt bad for the difficulties they were dealing with.

She had two sons. Let’s call them X and Y. X was the younger one, and Y was the older one.

Fast forward to May 1st.

My mother got a call from a neighbor saying that Y had died. Initially, we were told it was suicide. It came as a complete shock because he was the only earning member of the family and, from what I know, was doing very well financially. He owned two restaurants in Thailand, had paid for their flat outright without loans, and was even planning to buy a new car for his mother’s birthday worth 1cr.

The next day, my mother told me something even more disturbing. According to the younger brother, Y had been murdered most likely he had his face badly disfigured and was most likely beaten than thrown into canal and his pants were taken off before he was thrown.

What really gets to me is his mother. She was such a kind person. Out of everyone, she didn’t deserve to go through something like this. Seeing genuinely good people suffer tragedies like this makes me question a lot of things and I wish I had died instead of his son.

I hope whoever is responsible is caught. From what I’ve heard, the investigation is relying heavily on CCTV footage, but the area where it happened was fairly isolated. And I have doubt in India incompetent police. But I hope he still gets caught whoever is responsible and gets worst penalty.
