Design pixel art for crochet
Hi!
I've been crocheting for about a year now, so I'm still fairly new to it, but I experimented a lot during this year. My goal from the start was to do colorwork, so I tested Intarsia tapestry, then with some tweaks (back loop only, yarn under, ...), waistcoat stitch, overlay mosaic crochet, tunisian crochet and C2C. This is my experience so far (with a few other projects that weren't colorworks). I always "designed" my own grid (converting a picture, cleaning it up then crochet it. Only mosaic overlay needed some more work to adapt to the requirements of this technique). But I sometimes have some surprises along the way. Some lines not looking so good, or isolated pixel looking messy.
I'm having a lot of fun working my grids and designs, but I'd like them to be better adapted to the craft. I can't seems to find any videos out there explaining what to avoid or what to absolutely do to make pixel art stand out in crocheted items. I wondered if you knew of such resources? Or if you have any tips about pixel art for crochet?
TIA.
