Why isn't cubing merch more popular?

Speedcubing has a huge community worldwide, but I rarely see people wearing cubing-related t-shirts or hoodies, even at competitions.

Is it because the designs aren't appealing enough, or do cubers simply prefer to keep their hobby separate from their clothing?
