My partner and I disagree on politics, can we survive?
I try to have a liberal inclusive problem solving mindset while my partner is more conservative and has a bit of right wing mindset, although quite understanding, kind, respectful and loving. Our political disagreements end up with him saying he will not change his mind on it, and he is comfortable with it, while I am not comfortable with it because I am left wondering if I am with a person who doesn’t my frequency or he wouldn’t understand me when life throws complex curveballs. Am I overthinking this? I come from academically top ranks and institutes which also makes me feel like finding someone who matches my intellectual frequency is rare to find but also I wonder if I would be suffocated in this relationship with him not understanding my stance. He is otherwise a great guy, we have been dating for 4 months.
