Need feedback for Dual Mobility hip cup
Hi, my LTHR (29,F) is scheduled for Wednesday. My surgeon is putting in Insignia Dual Mobility cup and I was speaking to someone who said that he has read about some “nuances” about it and should really consider everything before going for it.
I’m kind of scared now.
I have AVN in both my hips and will have to go through 2 surgeries within the span of 3 months, but the implant will be dual mobility only with Anterior approach.
My surgeon said that I will not be needing rehab/PT post surgery as walking would be the only rehab for me. However, I have started Pre-hab personally with a PT to gain strength before surgery.
I asked my surgeon all sorts of questions including the fact that I sleep on my stomach and I mostly sit with crossed legs, he said I would take around 4 weeks to do both of these things but I don’t think he is telling me the honest truth about dislocations or stuff like that.
To think of it, I don’t even know how to survive without sitting cross legged because I sit like that for 95% of the times. Do you think I should emphasis on this one day before the surgery?
Also, if you have gotten dual-mobility cup done, can you please give me your feedback? I was reading that it makes you have a risk of wear particles and develop osteolysis over time?
I am really scared.
