BBC News Korea uploaded a 2:05 video on June 4 titled “지방선거 "투표용지 부족 사태"에 분노한 시민들,” which translates to citizens being outraged by the ballot-shortage incident during South Korea’s local elections.

According to the verified video description, angry citizens went to Songpa District’s Jamsil 7-dong No. 2 polling station to protest after ballot shortages disrupted voting there.

The same description says that this polling station was one of 14 polling stations in Seoul affected by ballot shortages.

It says protesters demanded a halt to vote counting, a re-vote, and identification of those responsible, while questioning the fairness and reliability of the election process.

The description also says some people at the scene shouted “election fraud” and urged the National Election Commission to make a formal response.

It further says some citizens argued that it was hard to accept the continuation of vote counting while some eligible voters had been unable to cast ballots.

According to the description, the National Election Commission said on June 4 that the incident does not qualify under the Public Official Election Act as grounds for delaying the election or holding a re-vote, and that suspending the ongoing count is not possible.
