Preparation Questions

Hello, I'm a 26-year-old female and getting surgery here in a month-ish, my first surgery ever, to correct and fix my scoliosis caused by a malformed vertebrae (T10). The fusion will extend from T7 to L1 with a cage in place for support at T10.

I am wondering how long I will be out of it (I'm assuming based off of pain and the pain meds), as I plan to catch up on a lot of reading and crafting (dreamcatchers) to pass time until I'm healed enough to go back to work. I am mostly excited to get to all of the books on my tbr, so I was wondering how difficult it would be to focus for how long?

My boyfriend of 3 years will be the one taking care of me mostly, so I was also wondering how to make this whole process easier on him as well. He's so supportive and willing, I genuinely want to take into consideration how this could affect him too as neither of us have gone through this exact scenario before.
