i used to hate the dry summer season

when i was a kid, i always said i preferred winter and dreamed of migrating into a cold country someday. i imagined myself loving the snow and the freezing weather kasi ang init talaga dito sa pinas. but as i grew older and gained more experiences, i realized i actually prefer summer. i still hate high humidity, but honestly, i’d take summer over the rainy season here any day.

flooding has gotten so much worse lately, and as a commuter, going to work and school becomes exhausting whenever it rains, especially since i don’t have a car. sometimes i still wonder how i survived last year as a night-shift working student eh grabe ung bagyo season.

kahit sa december, which used to feel cozy to me, became depressing. holidays used to be all merry and happy whenni was a child. but now, all i could think of is how the cold nights were especially hard because we didn’t even have a heater in the bathroom, so i’d end up shivering every night while getting ready for work.

summer, on the other hand, makes me genuinely happy. i love the beaches, the warmth, and the whole vibe of it. there’s just something about summer that feels alive and comforting to me rather than the wet and cold ass season.
