How Many Batteries Is Enough?
For the longest time, I only had three LXT batteries. It was okay, I was just doing around home DIY stuff. I could run my 36v rear handle circular saw and either a drill or a driver.
Yes, when the batteries needed recharging I was done working for awhile, which was irritating, but I’m lazy so a forced nap wasn’t all bad.
Then I started doing more, and wanted more batteries, but jeez they are expensive. I almost bought a two-pack of 5 Ah batteries at Home Depot list price ($281 I think) but couldn’t bring myself to do it.
I also needed more tools, so I started watching Marketplace and eBay for used tools, and only buying tools with batteries.
It surprises me, how quickly the battery count grew. I now have about 15 LXT batteries, most common is 5 Ah with some 6 Ah, some 4 Ah, and a couple 3 Ah and 2 Ah. Latest purchases were a drill + driver kit with two 5 Ah and one 3 Ah for $120, and a drill with a 4 Ah and a 2 Ah for $55.
I think I’m done buying LXT batteries. And unneeded drills.
Now I am on the lookout for XGT batteries.
How about you? How many batteries of what type have you found to be “enough”?
