Artifacts

I am a first time dm and was wondering how artifacts work. Both boon based ones and ones that could have exorcisms done on it. My campaign is centered around anarchs sticking it to any vampires or mortals with un-provinanced or immortally sourced artifacts and want a way to show an artifact that has been spiritually bloodied by colonialism.

To simplify it... how would Therese Voerman from VTMB exorcise the locket in v5?

Also, any tips or resources for a new dm?
