DISCLAIMER: First pic is base roster, second pic is DLC. Far right column of first pic are all Echoes and that is not supposed to be their final placement, the site I was using just doesn't let you add slots one at a time. Explanation below.

Alright so, going into this I tried to strip the roster down to its essentials, but what that means is very vague and stupid. As you can see, I dumped third parties entirely in favor of focusing solely on Nintendo's history, and from there cut characters I felt weren't really necessary. We can debate that all day.

This is supposed to be focused on refining the veterans. Not completely overhauling them (unless they're Ganondorf), but tweaking them where they need to be tweaked, and maybe adding some new moves here and there.

**Mario Series:** So when thinking about what is "essential" to represent Mario, my dumb ass felt that you have to include the entire main Mario cast. Either that or strip it down to just the Bros, Peach, and Bowser, which I didn't want to do. Bowser Jr. still has the Koopalings as alts, and Daisy is getting decloned heavily. Still likely deep in semi-clone status, but definitely not an Echo anymore.

**Zelda Series:** Link is made into more of an amalgam of his appearances, regaining both the Clawshot and Gale Boomerang from Twilight Princess, among other things. Impa replaces Shiek and mainly just inherits her moveset, with some tweaks to make it fit Impa more. I used the Hyrule Warriors 1 version of her here but it could just as easily be her Age of Calamity incarnation. Ganondorf is completely rebuilt from the ground up to be more accurate, getting stuff like more moves involving a sword and at least one projectile.

**Metroid:** Samus is reworked a bit to reflect the modern games more, and Ridley has his recovery and air game improved.

**Star Fox:** Star Fox adds Krystal to the roster for reasons I don't understand. I'm not even a big Star Fox fan but it just felt right. Sidenote: Trying to find artwork of her to use is HELL.

**Pokemon:** Made cuts to make the representation more balanced between the generations. Incineroar honestly could be swapped out for Greninja as I feel they have the same level of importance, I just personally prefer Incineroar. Gholdengo arrives as a Gen IX rep because I think it'd be really cool and unique.

**F-Zero:** Black Shadow arrives as a Captain Falcon Echo, pulling a bit from Ganondorf's old moveset, though it's not one-to-one.

**Fire Emblem:** Gave this some much-needed trimming. The four here I think do the best job of covering a wide swath of the series, both modern and old equally, and are all very different from each other.

**Yoshi Series:** Yoshi gains Birdo as an Echo because I just like Birdo dammit and they have similar enough models and both deal with eggs. Let me have this.

**Wario Series:** Okay so, I put Waluigi here to make it less noticeable how many Mario characters there are. And Ashley too because I like Ashley and I didn't want the only other Wario rep besides the man himself to not actually be a Wario rep.

**Pikmin:** Alph is separated from Olimar and becomes an Echo, using Rock Pikmin somewhere in his moveset idk my brain isn't powerful enough to comprehend Olimar's moveset.

**Retro Reps:** Along with the previous four, I through in Sai from Sin & Punishment because I think he fits perfectly as a retro, "who the f is this?" fighter. Also Isa as an Echo.

**DLC:**

So my idea with the DLC is that they get released in pairs, containing one veteran and one newcomer.

**Rosalina & Dixie Kong:** Dixie is a semi-clone of Diddy but still has a good amount of differences. Rosalina might be completely rebuilt or retain the Luma idk.

**Toon Link & Toon Zelda:** Toon Link largely plays like he always did; a smaller, faster Link with more cartoony animations, but with some new moves, such as a new recovery involving the Deku Leaf and possibly Fire and Ice arrows. Toon Zelda is basically the same idea but for Zelda.

**Dark Samus & Sylux:** Dark Samus is completely rebuilt and decloned from Samus, becoming a unique character (probably with some carry-over which might mak her a semi-clone idk the lines are blurry). Sylux instead of Raven Beak because I honestly like his design better and he has the potential to be way more unique since Raven Beak just uses a power suit similar to Samus. We don't need another one of those.

**Meta Knight & Bandana Dee:** Honestly I wanted Marx here instead but I didn't want to get attacked by the Bandana Dee fans. It's okay though Bandana Dee's cool too. Plus Marx can still return as a boss.

**Roy, Chrom, and Sigurd:** Bending the rules here a bit with the pair thing as this would include both Roy and Chrom, as Chrom would still be Roy's Echo. Sigurd would primarily use a lance.

**Mewtwo & a Gen 10 Mon:** We don't know anything about Gen 10 yet and I refuse to add more starters. There are so much more Pokemon than just starters. I only have one in this roster FOR GOOD REASON.

Smash Reboot roster thing because it's fun to think about
