Clarity in copy and/or pricing strategy
So a provider I’ve seen many times sends an email introducing some friends of hers (it’s likely an email blast/news letter).
I checked out one of the friends and what I saw got me thinking about how the copy/pricing may be introducing some friction and/or additional questions for clients.
She had the standard hourly rates and then for FMTY she had the usual flight, accommodation will be covered but where I got stuck was this: she listed her FMTY rates but then wrote “the rates including my consideration AND travel time”.
To me this is very confusing as a potential client. I would want to seek more clarity/confirmation here because my interpretation here is the rate includes travel time (literally) and since she’s on the other side of the country and coming to say, the East Coast, that’s at least 6 hours of travel.
I know the straightforward answer is just ask her to clarify but in some circles it may be seen as time wasting, being a cheapskate or trying to negotiate pricing. But to me the pricing (for that specific service) is just not clear.
To be clear, even though she’s intriguing I don’t have the ability to see her now since she’s on the other side of the country (US) and I typically prefer seeing a companion at least once before doing a multi hour FMTY.
Probably not a big deal if you ask respectfully but I’ve seen similar a few times
